Sensitive or Breakout-Prone Skin? Choosing Your White Rabbit Routine

If your skin is sensitive but also prone to breakouts or dullness, it can be hard to know which White Rabbit set to pick. Both of the White Rabbit Skin Care bundles we stock give you a full three-step routine. The difference is in what your skin needs most right now.

Two routines, one shared toner

The Sensitive skin bundle is built around keeping things calm and simple. You get the Eucalyptus & Lavender Cleansing Balm, the Orange & Aloe Toner and the Rosehip & Camellia Day Cream, which White Rabbit formulated especially for sensitive skin. It suits all skin types, so it’s also a good place to start if you’ve never had a proper routine before.

The Problem Skin Solution bundle is for skin that needs moisture and a bit of help clearing away dead skin cells. It swaps the balm for the Lavender & Apricot Glycolic Cleanser, which you use a couple of times a week, and pairs it with the same Orange & Aloe Toner and the Coconut & Rosehip Calming Cream, White Rabbit’s best seller.

The real question: does your skin want exfoliating?

It’s tempting to scrub or dry out skin that’s prone to spots, but that usually makes things worse. Stripped skin often responds by feeling tight, irritated or oilier than before. That’s why the Problem Skin set focuses on moisture first, with gentle exfoliation only a couple of times a week.

So ask yourself:

  • Does your skin sting, flush or react easily to new products? Start with the Sensitive skin bundle. A balm cleanser and a day cream made for sensitive skin is the gentler way in.
  • Is your skin congested, rough or dull, but fairly resilient? The Problem Skin set gives you the exfoliating step that the sensitive routine leaves out.
  • Not sure? Go gentle first. You can always add exfoliation later, but it’s harder to calm skin down once it’s irritated.

How to use either set

  1. Cleanse. With the balm, massage it into dry skin, then remove with a warm, damp cloth. With the glycolic cleanser, keep it to a couple of times a week and use something gentle (or just warm water) on the other days.
  2. Tone. Sweep or press the Orange & Aloe Toner over clean skin for an extra layer of hydration. It’s the one step both routines share.
  3. Moisturise. Finish with your cream while your skin is still slightly damp from the toner.

A few habits that make a difference

  • Patch-test anything new. Try a little on your inner arm or behind your ear for a day or two before using it on your face, especially if your skin is sensitive.
  • Introduce one product at a time. If something doesn’t agree with you, you’ll know which one it was.
  • Wear sunscreen on exfoliating weeks. Glycolic acid can leave skin more sensitive to the sun, so a daily SPF is a good idea while you’re using it.
  • Give it a few weeks. Skin takes time to settle into a new routine, so judge it after a month rather than after a few days.
